About Stacey:
Stacey Damkohler, MA, LPC, LCMHC, LMHC, NCC, CCMHC is the founder of Modern Trauma & EMDR Counseling and a licensed clinical mental health professional serving clients in Virginia, New Jersey, North Carolina, and New York.
Stacey specializes in trauma and EMDR therapy, helping adults and adolescents navigate anxiety, depression, grief and loss, childhood trauma, sexual trauma, relationship trauma, and difficult life transitions. Her approach is compassionate, trauma-informed, and focused on helping clients understand how past experiences may continue to affect their emotions, relationships, and sense of self.
Stacey holds professional counseling licenses in Virginia and New Jersey (LPC), North Carolina (LCMHC), and New York (LMHC). She is also a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors.
Through secure telehealth services, Stacey provides clients with a supportive space to process difficult experiences, develop healthier patterns, and move toward lasting healing.

Insurance & Private Pay Made Simple
I accept select insurance plans. Private-pay sessions are also available for clients who prefer not to use insurance or when I am not in-network with their plan.
For eligible clients in NJ, VA & NC. I partner with Thrizer to help make out-of-network reimbursement easier. Thrizer can help you check your benefits, estimate potential reimbursement, and simplify the claims process.
New York clients: Services are offered on a private-pay basis only due to license limitations . Superbills and out-of-network insurance reimbursement documentation are not provided.
